Lya en Occo Sevilla

- Your latest track with Manuel Cortés is a fusion of flamenco and bachata. Do you have other fusions with other styles in mind?

Sure, I'm recording the sixth album and in this album almost everything is fusions, we're even going to do some bulerías that we're going to fuse with more electronic sounds. We're going to do fusion with almost all the songs, we're also bringing Latin themes, very cool stuff.

- What reach would you like to have?

The more people who listen to my songs and my stories, the better, that's the most beautiful thing, to arrive at a concert and have it filled with people listening to your songs.

- Would you like to try your luck in other countries?

I would love to, I've been in Mexico, England, France and Portugal, where I've been able to share my music. The truth is that the further away and the more people, the better. We often think that no one is a prophet in their own land, many artists like Mónica Naranjo, without going any further, are very popular in America. On many occasions, when they recognize your talent outside your land, you already acquire that prestige.

I have sung with Joaquín Cortés and flamenco is very popular there, many tickets are sold and they have that respect for it, even more than here because here we like it and we respect it but we don't go to the concerts and we don't give the artists the place they deserve to be valued more.

- What collaborations would you like to do in the future?

I would like to collaborate with all the artists I admire. There isn't one in particular, but of all the ones I've learned from, Niña Pastori, Alejandro Sanz... There are so many people I admire, I like to share music with all of them, and also with those who are not famous. In my album I like to collaborate with artists that I like and that transmit something to me.

- What could you highlight about your career for anyone who doesn't know you?

Artistically I have shared the stage with Pastora Soler, I worked with her as a backing singer for two years, I also worked with Joaquín Cortés. I have been doing studio work and so on, they have all been teaching me things in life.

Pastora Soler has given me advice, with Joaquín for example I didn't have such a close relationship of friendship but it's normal, some are closer and others not so much. I didn't have that friendship like with Pastora, from her I learned, because you learn how you have to behave on stage, how you have to behave with others and then I take it to my own way. The truth is that you learn things from everyone, so from great artists that you see and admire, too. You learn a lot from the things they do, how they do them, how they behave... Life is about that, learning how others do things.

- What would you value positively and negatively about the industry?

It's that there are people who are not worth a fig and are hitting home runs but there are also musicians who are as good as gold and are starving because they cannot live from music. But life is so unfair, not only for music but also for many jobs, life is like that, it's luck... The people you know also influence, some have that luck because they have many followers and it costs them little to get where they are and there are others who have to work a little harder.

- A dream

I would like to always have work in music to be able to help my family and that my girls don't lack anything. To live well from music and to be able to be well, to enjoy them and music for me is the most important thing. Family, music and God.

- What stadium would you like to fill?

The Wizink Center, I have already sung there, I have been an opening act for Alejandro Sanz on one of his tours and apart from that I was with Cadena Dial that did things with many artists but I would like to fill it with my people, with my audience singing my songs.
